Type of Information Collected:

The majority of great products and services on our Sites are offered without our collecting any personally identifiable information from you. You can surf the Sites and view much of our terrific content anonymously.

Information You Provide:

There are a few activities on our Sites where the collection of personally identifiable information (“PII”) is necessary. When we collect PII from you it is because you are voluntarily submitting the information to us in order to participate in certain activities including (i) registration for certain services and tools such as downloads or chat rooms; (ii) registration for special communication such as emails, updates and newsletters; (iii) subscription registration; (iv) purchase products or services from or through the Sites; (v) surveys; (vi) participation with events, sweepstakes, contests, promotions; and (vii) contacting us.  For most activities, we collect only your name, e-mail address, birth date, gender, and zip code. When we request PII from you, we will inform you of the type of information we need and the purpose of our use.  Except as specifically described in this Privacy Policy and the associated privacy policies of our various Sites, we will generally only use your PII for the purpose it was collected.

We may obtain PII from reputable third parties.  We may also receive on the Sites user-generated content or information of any type or medium, which may include PII, including but not limited to text chat and video images from chat rooms or user reviews. Information Collected from You with Technology:

The Sites collect some information about you using technology, so it may not be readily apparent to you that it is being collected. An IP address is often associated with the place from which you enter the Internet like your ISP (Internet Service Provider), your company, or your university. This information is not personally identifiable. We use information collected through technology to make our Sites more interesting and useful to you. We normally don't combine this type of information with personally identifiable information. However, we will combine this information with personally identifiable information to identify a visitor in order to enforce compliance with our house rules or terms of service or to protect our service, Site, or others.
